Sadly, over 340 koalas are hit by cars in the Gold Coast region each year. Our local Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest hospitals in the world, admitting over 9000 animals a year.

We ask to please look out for our wildlife on the roads. Drive slowly when you see wildlife warning signs and help save more koalas. We thank Wildcare Australia Inc and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation, both non-profit organisations, for their tireless work.

Gwinganna is honoured to work with Wildcare and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital to rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. Since 2015, five rescue koalas including Julia (pictured) and two echidnas have been released at Gwinganna.

  • From our guests

    Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat Crystal steamroom

My love of Gwinganna is the amazing family of staff who all give 110%. They are real, committed, and above all, full of love and kindness. Like most people, I come to Gwinganna to recharge my body. But from the time I enter the front gate I feel at home, safe in the arms of people who really care both for me and about me. Greg, Brisbane

The seminars were fantastic and each one was full of life changing information. The way they were delivered was engaging and enjoyable. The walks with John were pure pleasure, whether for the joy of walking in such glorious surroundings, the wealth of information he shared or just the most uninhibited and beautiful entertainment he gave. I couldn’t fault any aspect of my stay. I have come away with many gifts and insights which will enhance my life now and in the future. Wendy, Perth
